Priscila Oprescu is a Romanian-born classical pianist. She started playing the piano at the age of six, and by the age of nine had won first prize at the “Concours Musical de France” in Paris. In the years that followed she was awarded numerous prizes at many of the classical music competitions in Romania and has been performing frequently in concerts across her native country, as well as in Italy and in the UK. Highlights of her more recent performances include appearances at the Wigmore Hall in London and in the Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli Concert Hall in Bolzano, Italy. Priscila regularly takes part in masterclasses, through which she has worked with distinguished pianists such as Josu de Solaun, Peter Tuite, Sergio de Simone, Yekaterina Lebedeva, Alessandra Brustia, Cristiano Burato, Luigi Mariani, Stefano Bozolo, Léa-Yoanna Adam and Viniciu Moroianu. Priscila is currently studying under Professor Yekaterina Lebedeva at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. She has been awarded both the Arthur Haynes and Jimmie Cross Prize Fund Scholarships and was generously supported by the Henry Wood Accommodation Trust and the Finzi Trust. After having won The John Longmire Competition in November 2020, Priscila represented Trinity Laban as a finalist of the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe Competition in 2021. Her solo repertoire ranges from Baroque to late 20th Century Music, and she is an experienced chamber musician performing with various chamber ensembles including the Jora Piano Trio. The trio has taken part in masterclasses led by renowned string quartets such as the Carducci Quartet and the Smith Quartet. At Trinity Laban, the trio has been working closely under outstanding musicians such as violist Rivka Golani, along with violinist Diana Cummings, cellists David Kenedy, David Cohen and Sally Pendlebury.
Gregory Scotland started playing the violin at age 10 and went on to be awarded the Len Smith and Felicity Young Scholarship to study violin performance with John Crawford and Lana Trotovsek at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. During his time in London he has become a keen chamber musician, having received coaching and masterclasses from Michael Bochmann MBE, Rivka Golani, David Kennedy and Douglas Finch, as well as members of the Carducci, Piatti, and Smith string quartets. Gregory is a founding member of the London based string quartet “The Creation Quartet,” who have collaborated and performed with prominent musicians, composers and organisations such as Andrew Bernardi, Malcolm Singer, and the London Oriana Choir. With the quartet Gregory has performed across the country, including at the Royal Academy of Arts and for the Duke of Norfolk at Arundel Castle. As an orchestral musician he has performed across the world, representing England in the San Diego International Youth Orchestra and as concertmaster in the premiere run of Edward Jessen’s opera “Syllable”. Alongside his classical training, he is also an enthusiastic folk violinist with experience in traditional Irish and Scottish music, regularly performing with his folk trio “Abhainn”. Gregory is a passionate violin, piano and ensemble tutor, teaching at Kingston Music School and Hackney Youth Orchestra Trust, and appears regularly as a guest tutor at the Bernardi Music Group String Academy.
