Harrison Dolphin Trio perform Roll On: The music of Elmo Hope

The Harrison Dolphin Trio, an intimate trio project explore the music of the great and overlooked jazz pianist and composer, Elmo Hope. His place among jazz pianists can be described alongside Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk, but is often unfairly overlooked in part due to its difficulty to perform, his understated nature and style, and also due to his personal troubles which led to his early death at the age of 43.

His unique and complete personal concept-led style produced moving compositions that challenge performers to navigate his bizarre yet intuitive world of harmony, melody, rhythm and structure.
