St Alfege Church, Greenwich

THU 25 NOV 13.05

Jared Michaud Baritone
Christina Koti Piano

Many genres of American music can accredit black artists for their creation and development, and art song is one such genre that is often overlooked. In this piano and voice concert, Christina Koti (Piano, MMus 2) and Jared Michaud (Baritone, MAMEP 2) will perform works by four pioneering composers: Margaret Bonds, Robert Owens, Florence Price, and William Grant Still. Interspersed with narratives of these composers' relationships, triumphs, and trials, the programme will highlight the profound impact that black Americans have made to art song and black culture at large.
