Charlie Walker - Cello
Charlie Walker has just finished her BMus course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying cello with Ursula Smith. During her time at GSMD she has played in a wide range of orchestral projects, including film music, musical theatre and opera, and she particularly enjoyed playing in the barbican centre with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, she enjoyed playing Elgar Symphony No.1 and Brahms Symphony No.3 conducted by Nicholas Collon, using Social distanced measures and Low - Latency technology. Charlie also studies the Baroque cello with Joseph Crouch and has played with different baroque groups in London.
As well as Velluto Duo, Charlie enjoys playing in a piano trio and string quartet. During her time in these groups, she has worked with members of the Endellion Quartet, Marmen Quartet and the Heath Quartet. She also worked with the Decoda Ensemble from New York, focusing on workshop techniques with chamber groups.
Charlie has also played solo recitals at venues such as Aboyne Cello Festival, Benslow music and Music in New Malden. She is looking forward to continuing her studies at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in September, after gaining a scholarship for a postgraduate course.
