Lunchtime Concert: Trinity Laban CoLab Presentations

THU 23 FEB, 13:05

A double bill unpacking how religion empowers humans to look for ‘A Better Place’.

Led by Professor Bruno Heinen, the project Variations for the End of Time derives from Messiaen's seminal work and presents a jazz improvisation set. Messiaen wrote this piece while in prison of war in German captivity. His compositional idea was deeply related to his Christian faith, specifically inspired by the New Testament Book of Revelation.

Renaissance Gospel Choir is about songs of hope and joy inspired by the Black Atlantic. Alexander Douglas and the group will explore the standard of contemporary gospel music that exists beyond the United States, along with the interrogation of the embedded faith.
